Have noticed this too. Can't explain it unless it's just the novelty of the
things. They certainly aren't superior optically, just from a size/weight
standpoint like you noted. Guess if I ever decide to unload mine, I know
where I ought to list it.

Twice now in a short period I've seen ~300 mm mirror lenses sell for more in
the UK than a Tamron SP 60-300 mm. Sure the mirror should be shorter, but
the Tamron 60-300 isn't a huge lens. Have they found some "special use" for
300 mm mirrors, or is the US $ weak compared to the UK pound?
