Hi Folks,
Oh I overlooked to mention.
You remember those marvellous butterfly macro shots taken hand-held in a
French garden that I posted on the internet 4 - 6 months ago? Many people,
as far as I could tell, thought they were pretty sharp (scanned with a
ScanWit scanner). My French friend sent me some jpegs of his lens so I
could confirm I was talking with the seller about the same lens ( there are
several versions - one on the Bay fitted to a C*n*n had exactly the same
description, was used for dental work, but was about twice the length).
Brooklyn Camera in NY had one. Now I have. Their site still shows the mark
on the shelf where it was; a SOLD sign.
My 2nd non-Zuiko lens for a while. Tight as a bell, clean as a whistle, solid
as a rock, (have I missed anything) no box but it looks new (it's used). Does
1:1. So now I'm not going to fret over not having a Zuiko macro for a while.
Brooklyn were good to deal with.
Since I do quite a few macro shots one way or another, this horse is a very
welcome addition to my stable.
Both it and the Samyang 18-28 have DOF preview buttons, which I much
prefer.
So in two hits I've covered 18-28, and a great 50mm macro area of my work.
Not many gaps left that matter now. The one or two that *are* left will take
quite some making / saving for i|;-)
Cheers, Brian
