Drat these Bogen numbers! That's the same as the Manfrotto 222, of which I
have the green version, the 222NAT.
I've not used it much, and can't comment on the max weight, but I have tried
it out with my 300/4.5 and it seemed OK. Mostly I have used it with my 85
and 135/2.8, on my OM1n.
I find it very easy and slick in use, it can be a bit stiff if you haven't
adjusted it down a bit. Mine has a bubble level which can be on either side
of the head, it helps with some landscapes, especially if you're in an odd
stance.
It's a bit on the heavy side, having said that I intend to use mine 'off the
beaten track' on my 055NAT (3221GN) tripod...
