I have two of these meters and was unhappy to see that, with the demise
of mercury cells, the alternative seemed to be two of the MR-9
converters at about $30 or so each. I found out that the Bogen company
is now the distributer for the Gossen line and they offer a double cell
replacement adapter for right at $20.
