There's a (not very active) fault line that runs down the Hudson Valley right to NYC. Here in northern NJ, I can recall 2 or 3 small quakes that made the news in the past 15 or so years. Some people notice them, some don't. Usually, things kept on shelves get rattled and sometimes knocked down. George S. jnmcbr@xxxxxxx writes: Is your area known for earthquakes?
