Hi Roger,
I am resonably sure that my OM2 was serviced in Denmark. The work sheet
eludes me just now, but I think I would have noticed if it was written in
Portugese :-) Anyway, my local photo pusher, who I know very well and trust,
has good contacts to Olympus Denmark. I am almost sure he would have mentioned
it if Olympus were sending repairs far away. I believe he told me that they
send older cameras from other manufacturers to an independent technician
specialising in classic cameras when the official support is terminated. I am
not sure where that technician is located, but the town Maaloev comes to
mind.
I do know that a Camedia 2500 belonging to a friend of mine was sent somewhere
far away, when it needed service via a dealer somewhere in Copenhagen
recently.
Portugal sounds about right.
Lars
