I remember some time ago someone mentioning that they used a T-32 or T-20 w/
diffuser on a BG2 w/ the 135/4.5 macro and tele-auto tube. I think they
posted some results on the web, and they looked very good...good ambient
light, no harsh shadows, etc.
One of my more recent attempts used a T-32 with the 21mm WA diffuser and
remoted. Although better than on-camera and better than a bare flash, it
was still harsher than I desired, probably due to insufficient diffusion
for its proximity. It was less than 10 feet away. My conclusion was it
needs much greater diffusion to create a large areal source of a square
foot or more; an umbrella or comparatively large softbox would work better.
