Went down the big Bay Area camera show today. Met up with Mike Butler
and Jim Brokaw for the first time, which was nice. There was a very
good turnout of Olympus gear, and I came home with some OM goodies, a
nice T32, a mint T20, a lens case for my 75-150. But the real coup
was snagging an Olympus RD35 in *very* nice condition (I would rate
it a 9+, almost mint) I had never even seen or even knew of this
camera before today. It's been gone through by the seller and has new
foam and a just cleaned viewfinder. I bought it for $125. It is such
a *cool* little camera, whisper quiet and the shutter and wind lever
are smoother than an OM-1 (which is saying something). I always
wanted a nice quiet little rangefinder for candid photos....
Any of the other list members have one? I think I remember C.H.
mentioning something about them recently. Does anyone know of any
available documentation for them or if there are cases available? It
has a 6 element Zuiko f/1.7 lens on it, so it looks like it has a
nice lens on it. What kind of flash unit can I use on it? A Vivitar
or Metz or Sunpak? Would my T20 work?
On another note, it was great hanging out with Mike and Jim
today...those two guys are so knowledgeable it was a revelation, and
it was a real pleasure to cruise up and down the aisles with them
today.
Thanks, guys!
