I bought my OM-1 MD with 50/1.4 lens and semi-rigid never-ready case (all new)
from Camera Mart (Baltimore, MD) on 12 April 1975 for US $304.00. (I still
have the sales slips, and use the camera, or will when the CLA is done.)
I bought a OM-4T MD body new for $650 from Adorama on 29 November 1993. (I
must struggle on with the OM-4T while the OM-1 is being CLAed.)
According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics' Inflation Calculator, $304 in
1975 is equivalent to $1,005 today in 2002. And $650 in 1993 is equivalent
to $800 today.
The Inflation Calculator button is the first line under the "Get Detailed
Statistics" heading on this webpage: <http://stats.bls.gov/cpi/>.
