The box arrived yesterday. I resisted long enough that my wife actually
took the lead and cracked it open. Inside was a brand new Olympus
TCON-14b for the E-10. As one who doesn't buy brand new gear often it
was an exciting moment. Cameta Camera was great to work with, fired it
right out at a price that was "less than what we pay for them" according
to my local Olympus dealer. They even included a small bag of candy (a
nice touch).
I had no idea how big this sucker is. For not a lot of money, this is
one large and impressive piece of Olympus glass. Only inexpensive due to
no mechanical parts (being a thread-on tele-converter and all).
I pulled out the E-10, threaded this baby on, and it sure seems to work
well. Put the E-10 to MF mode and noticed that it popped in and out of
focus very well indeed.
I just had to share the excitement. Apologies for the blasphemous
digital camera post ;-)
