When controlling the exposure with the TTL Auto system I use the flash meter
to assure myself that the slave or slaves do not overpower the automatic
system and take away the control. This is done by firing the slaves without
the camera controlled flash, measuring the light, and then setting the
aperture to a higher number that would be required by the slaves alone. The
relative amount of light contributed by the primary and the slaves can be
adjusted by aperture setting, light positions, and slave power (if
adjustable). Even if running in automatic, this requires some previous
experience or current setup experimentation to get the light balance where
you want it. I used to use this automatic/slave control a lot for weddings
and on-location work where it had to work the first time and there was no
time to experiment with the setup. The combination of OM-2N, Bounce Grip 2,
Winder, and T-32 never failed me.......NEVER. I do love that system!

OK, say you have the flash meter at the subject and the OM-2/T-32 on
TTL-Auto. You also have the remote flash on as a slave. Normally (in
non-TTL mode), you'd fire the main flash to trigger the slave, and then the
flashmeter would tell you what aperture to use for the whole setup.

But with TTL-Auto, that is not necessary. The camera tells the flashes when
to cut off in real-time via the silicon cell in the camera.

I can't think of anyway to use a flashmeter with this setup. <<
