Tripod is a little over 5 pounds w/o head. I use a Giotto medium
ballhead as it is
reasonably light weight at 13oz. With the Q-top QR head I would
guess the whole
shebang weighs in at a little over seven pounds. Heads can make a
big difference in
overall weight. The large Giotto head weighs about two and a half pounds for
example, and many heads are well over three pounds.

How much does one weigh, with head?

I guess I have not solved tripods yet. I have aimed for lighter
weight with some rigidity as if I am going to strap it to my backpack
and walk all day with it when I never carry one anyway. So I suppose
that if the only time I use one is when it is accessible from the
back of the car it does not matter how much it weighs.
