Well, this has all certainly been enlighting. In reading through this
entire thread I'm starting to think a landscape picture is a picture that
isn't centered or focused on any single thing, but the view as a whole.
Well, that's not exactly right either. Maybe...oh never mind. I started
thinking about this too late know and never got out to take any shots! Now,
whats the next theme?
Anyway, in looking at the pictures linked to below, I would say
1. Yes, this is a landscape
2. Close. I could probably go either way
3. Nope. This is a picture of the bridge, and clearly the main element
4. This one with the stone wall I think is a landscape photo
5. The people in the park with the fountain - nope, not a landscape.
I agree, except for #2. Cityscape -there is definitely no land in that photo.
Thinking more about it, maybe a landscape is analogous to a nude.
An artfully draped modesty cloth, earrings, bellybutton jewel or
other decoration and it is still a nude. Cover the subject with
clothes and it is no longer a nude even if the smile is still nice.
