Do people really use cameras without straps? I never wear the strap around
my neck, but a long while ago I got into the habit of putting my right hand
through the strap and twisting it around my wrist a couple of times, just to
make sure if I do somehow release the camera it won't go anywhere.
This means that 990f the time all I ever do with the strap is stuff it
out of the way into a pocket/bag/etc, but it's a little extra security
measure in case I slip/whatever, and the effort required to wind the strap
around my wrist is minimal once you've worked out the motion required.
I suppose I could just replace the strap with some string and get the same
effect for less bulk, though, even given my lack of worries about
aesthetics, that would be pretty ugly..
