Not to rain on the parade, but the problem with such devices is that they
are like targets waiting to get hit.
The release buttons on OM cameras are designed so that they must be pressed
slightly below the collar around the release button, thereby protecting the
mechanism inside from damage. With a "soft release" button screwed into the
camera, any impact to it, even with a case on the camera, will often exert
enough force to break a lever inside (which, btw, is no longer available),
disabling the camera. On many cameras such damage is quite extensive and
expensive to repair, but on the OM's it's relatively easy to fix -- if you
can get the lever!
If you do decide to a "soft release", you might want to remove it whenever
the camera is not in use.
