I think this must have been it -- I rescanned them all at 300dpi, and there
was less grain in the larger images than in the smaller ones, even though
I'd expect the opposite. It's a bit more work to resize and unsharp them
all, but it looks a _lot_ nicer in the end; I reuploaded them in case anyone
wants to look at the new versions.
I suppose this means that the scanner must be doing 150 point samples per
inch, rather than 150 1/150th areas per inch as I'd assumed.
