Thanks for the offer, but all of my 50mm 1.8s (actually *all* of my lenses too)
are fully functional and I haven't any that are in bits or so messed up that
they have no functional use. I tend to repair / maintain things.
Also, we don't seem to have the kinds of markets here with these things that
other countries seem to - or maybe if we do I don't know about them. What
pawn-shops there are, price their items too high even if it is low quality.
Having read recently about the variability in performance of lenses, it crossed
my mind that 50 f/1.8 is at the same time good lens design and one that is
not so expensive that I can not think about trying two or three MIJ's to look
for a really star performer.
So; thanks, but for the present, none of mine are in bits !!
