I paid just about half as much for this computer as I paid almost
exactly 10 years ago for a 33Mz 386 with 16Mb RAM, a 250Mb HD, 8Mb
video card, no DVD, no CD burner, no Zip drive, no sound card or
external speakers, and a 14-in. color monitor. It did have two
floppy drives and a tape drive. I guess I could move the 5 1/4-
in. drive to the Dell, but I haven?t used the tape drive in years
because it never did work exactly right.
Ain?t technological progress just peachy keen? As much as it
hurts, you just have to spend a buck or two now and then. I
haven?t yet seen a funeral procession that had a Brinks truck in
it.
OM content: I?ll move the HP PhotoSmart scanner from the old Dell
(a 300Mz Pentium III) to the new one and install the bootleg copy
of a certain very expensive photo editing program I got from my
Hasselblad cousin in Alabama, then I?ll go out with an Oly and a
Zuiko or two and see what I can find for TOPE 9.
