I owned an Aria. Very nice camera body and I can't say enough good about the
Contax lenses. I'd say its been around 8 or 10 years by now.
The Contax AX (AF body) uses the manual focus lenses by moving the film plane
back and forth inside the body, to achieve autofocus. I don't think it ever
was a great seller, they're available at much reduced prices from Contax
right now. I think the internals went out of whack more than you'd expect,
necessitating warranty work.
The Contax N1 (AF) system just came out a little more than a year ago, but
that uses a new generation of AF lenses. The N1 (digital body) is just now
entering the market, and it uses the same AF lenses as the N1 film camera. I
have an N1 system and it is magnificent, but HUGE compared to an OM.
