Okay, I'm seeing E-10s on the Evil Thing for less than $1000.
They've been refurbished by Olympus USA and have a 90-day Olympus
USA warranty, plus a five-year warranty by the seller, which
probably means next to nothing since the seller may well be on the
FBI's 10 most wanted list this time next year. John H. posted
something about this yesterday, but I took it mostly as a warning
to non-US of A folks because of the warranty.
I have a friend whose theory is that refurbished or factory-
rebuilt stuff is usually better than new because, instead of just
being slammed in a box at the end of the assembly line, it's
actually been fixed and checked out by a supposedly competent
human being and meets all specs. Maybe so. Makes sense, sort of,
but I don't know.
What say you all, y'all? To buy or not to buy? Is that a
question or what?
This was Mike V's suggestion, and it's now become option number 4.
This is all getting to be very confusing.
