Thanks AndrewF. It was in a spare bathroom with an extractor fan (no
window) which comes on automatically with the main light switch; it
might have picked up dust from that.
All right, I will have a go a rescuing it, but now Julia has agreed
once, it is likely that she will again ;-).

Where did you dry it? Even very limited waving around of a wet film picks
up motes that look like beams in a scan.
Either that or it's negative vibe spots from the missus.
