As an aside, "sharpening," mathematically speaking, *always* adds noise. So if
you've got a noisy yet fuzzy image, sharpening it will only make it noisier.
Also larger in filesize (KBytes), because compression algorithms in JPEG etc.
cannot compress noise (it's random as far as any compression algorithm is
concerned, so there's no regularities which such an algorithm can exploit to
make the file smaller).
