Hiya,

Although I almost assured everyone that I had my zuikoholism in a firm
grip, I think the prospects of a good Fang made me slip seriously,
snow-balling into almost Scales' proportions. I need to confess....no,
wait..."share" my experience...;)

First, I got my hands on a MINT OM1n (it turned out), with the only
problem of the meter being a little off. This is a beauty, it looks as if
it came right out of the box, and the mechanics sound really healthy. It
came with the usual 50/1.8 optical bodycap.

Secondly, I also got around a NIB varimagnifinder. Yes, NIB. Beauty. Not
that I knew what I would use it for (yet - more to come...), but....

For the above lot I paid about USD 110. For all I am concirned, that's a
very good price for a MINT om1n alone, no? A Fang? Can I be admitted to
the exclusive DFBH-club based on that???

This triggered that I placed a bid on a danish auction site for an OM20
w. 50/1.8 and two 135mm's (one Olympus - not sure if it is 3.5 or 2.8
since I haven't received it). It was described to be in good shape,
and the price I won with was about USD50.

Next, I saw a 35/2.0 and an 135/2.8 for sale. Not really a Fang,
but not expensive either. The 35/2.0 was about USD100 and the
135/2.8 was about USD40. The lenses are very well cared for, so I think
they will do me good service, I think fair prices still, no?

Anyways, now I had a varimagnifier....so fortunately, the same guy who had
the 35/2.0 also had an auto-bellows, a dia-copyer, a couple of
extension tubes and the macrophoto-stand. Ohh, and two eyecups and some
focusing screens (1-10 and 1-4, I think it was).....so now I am scheduling
to pick all that this friday. There were a couple of other things
(including Zuiko's), but I've forgotten all the details.....

I guess that can be seen as a major slip in the 10-step-programme to
recovery. But, on the other hand, a major step towards the "getting all
the olympus-gear" award. He who has the most gear when he dies wins,
right? ;)

On a serious side, I am probably going to thin out some of the things, in
particulary those thrid-party lenses among the above, as well as what I
will get in double. Once I get things in, I will put together a list (and
get some representative photos) of the stuff I wish to part with.

However, the guy with all the Olympus-gear is also trying to part with his
OM4. I think he anticipates about USD115 or something for it, and it is
described to be in good condition, also cosmetically. I do not know if it
is the new "non-battery-eating" model or not (can find out, though). If
anyone are interrested, I can provide a contact to the gentleman (No
relation to seller other than the purchases described above)

So....I guess I have to start the 10-step programme all over. Where's
Chris O'Neil when I need him....

Ahh, well....let's see: I can excuse the 135mm's by saying that I needed
to evaluate their usage for portraitures (per the recent discussions on
the list on this topic), and the macro-stuff...ehhh....well, I *could*
start growing really really small mineature bonsais....uhmm.....help me
out here, I need justifications....;)

Regards
