As I remember it, these tests are made at one f-stop and one focus
point. If I'm correctly remembering the way they do things, that's pretty
limiting. As a *very* general guideline, there may be some merit, but the
real measuring instrument should be you, the photographer. Failing that,
it should be other photographers, whom you have reason to trust, with
actual field (or studio) experience with the lenses.
