I don't know about the 'Lens made in Japan" vs. 'Japan' difference. I'm not
aware of any distinction there, but others may be.
The 24mm is certainly Multicoated. See

Hi everyone,
Recently I just purchase 2 zuiko lenses.
And I notice that my 50mm F3.5 macro lens(serial nbr 147706) was designated 'Lens
made in Japan" whereas My 24mm F2.8 only designated 'Japan'.
Now ,why the different?
Also,is my 24/2.8 mc? (serial 221604)
Thank you,best regards
