Last night went in to a Walgreen's Drug. Only Kodachromes on display were
Elitechrome 200, 400. Only Fuji film was Superia 200, 400. Kodak "Max" 800,
etc. The Kodak Picture Maker ("Prints from your digital camera!") machine
produced a so-so reproduction of an old B&W print of my mother for $7 (on
nice Kodak paper). Will take it to Pro Lab or Photobition in Seattle and
have it done RIGHT, damn the cost.
Went into the local Bartell's Drug this afternoon. Was shocked to see the
wall that WAS covered in Kodak & Fuji film is bare. In front of the wall now
sit 3 new machines for "instant" reproduction. Signs advertise 1 hr.
processing. I left with a sad heart.
