I forgot to mention one other interesting 'feature' of this lens. It has
a little thumb screw to adjust stiffness of the zoom action, or simply
lock it at a chosen focal length. A slightly kludgy solution to the
problem of zoom 'creep', but very effective. On this lens, the bang as
the zoom ring and all the attached glass and metal hit the end would be
substantial. This way you can adjust it so you can point it up or let it
hang down at any temperature without having it change focal length.
