Hello Zuiks,
I think it was Albert who wrote very recently (I have deleted the digest and
must have overlooked keeping that entry), that he had heard of the Wiz, and
could I take some photos.
It so happened I had to go into the centre of town and caught up with him as
he was leaving the Square. Took a portrait or two and some shots of his
classic car. Had a very enjoyable few minutes talking with him - I am under
his spell now <g>.
The Wiz has his own web-site. I'm sure none of you will be interested in such
childish nonsense. www.wizard.gen.nz
The camera I had was my OM1, with the Zuiko 35~105. That lens is brilliant
in that sort of situation where you want to compose (frame-fill) any sort of
shot from a limited number of stand-points. The OM1 in something else;
when trying to squeeze off shots in a hurry, it was a real challenge to
remember to read the meter and apply the result to the camera. I am so
used to a 10, 2 or 4 in that kind of situation. The photos are in the first
half of
a 36 roll of K*d*c*r*m*. So it will be a while before there's something to see.
My photo-finisher has just received the software for doing digital prints
directly from slides - but is waiting till things get a bit more quiet as he is
sure that loading this extra stuff will crash something else that they now have
going perfectly, and need for everyday work.
Brian
