A word of caution. If you buy XP, before you actually upgrade the OS be
sure to run the test application to determine which programs you have will
actually work with XP. Yes, it is an improvement. Yes it will be a better
platform for new cameras with firewire and USB I/O.
BUT...
Many people I know have just installed blindly and found that some of their
software no longer works.

I really agree with your opinion of ME, ... I'm being dramatic....Glad to
hear of your success with XP... I'll get around to the upgrade soon I hope.

Don't resist. XP is light-years ahead of Me. Me is, well to be polite,
junk. Even 98 was better. We're running XP on three machines, one XP
Home
and two XP Pro (including this laptop) and it works flawlessly. My
'production' machine has XP Pro, Raid 0 and Photoshop. It just screams.
(all three Dells, by the way).
