I also recommend the AAA materials. If you are a member of an auto club
where you live, they may have a reciprocal agreement with AAA. Ask.
Some twenty years ago I used my AAA membership to get trip advice from
the
AA* in England. Apropos of your ambitious itinerary, I had initially
asked
the AA service representative if I could travel from London to Salsbury,
Stratford-on-Avon, and Cambridge and back in three days. With a
perfectly
straight face, he said that I could definitely do that. Did I, however,
wish to see anything at any of those locations? I dropped Cambridge
from the trip.
