I'm certain someone will come along with answers to the DOF and other 
questions, and the topic (pinhole 'lens') has been answered on this list, 
with the poster pointing us to a pinhole photo web site; but why would you 
'operate' on the lens, people have said you can just use a body cap with a 
pinhole in it as the 'lens'. Of course, I don't believe you'd get any meter 
coverage, for that you're on your own- experimentation is called for.
