I have a question for anyone who is electronically inclined! I am
powering my Vivitar 285HV flash gun with the dedicated SB-4 110v/120v AC
to DC power pack. The gun requires four new AA batteries to operate the
synchronization circuit. Although the gun's recycle time is faster than
had I been relying on battery power alone I have noticed that the
batteries are also draining.
I am wondering whether the battery drainage is attributable to them
operating the synchronization circuit only or whether the gun requires
the batteries to provide part of the charge the other part of which is
provided by the power pack.
