The "M/A" switch now works just as John Lind said it should. On "M",
the lens is manually stopped down: sort of a DOF preview. On "A",
tripping the shutter allows the body to stop the lens down,
"automatically" ;-).
It was a SWAG (scientific wild-a@# guess); based purely on how the
similarly labeled M/A switch found on my Mamiya Sekor lenses
works. Another SWAG? The prior owner either mucked around with the
linkages playing with them or attempted to put it on a body improperly and
jammed it wide open.
Glad you got it working after all this time! Perhaps the photographs shot
through it will look a little better now. :-)
