The Olympus focusing stage and rail are very stable, and do make macro work much
easier. With a good solid tripod it should not be a problem. I have a
Manfrotto/Bogen 3021 that works well. They are rather hard to find used. The
focusing stage and rail are available new from a number of mail order outfits.
If I recall correctly you would be looking at just under $200 new.
