Another macro you might consider is the 105mm, f2.8 1:1 manufactured by
Kino Precision and exported to the USA by them under the Kiron label. It's
a well built lens that carried a list price of ~$440 in the early '80s. I
understand that Kino Precision also made optics for a number of companies
including some of the Vivitar Series One lenses. This lens is not very
well known and seems to get very little respect. One went on eBay awhile
back for less than $100. For a couple of sample shots go to:
