I agree on the content, although normal interchanges can take place
if people keep their cool, and respond rationally - as if they were
in a room with their correspondents perhaps.
But your mauve type will cause problems. I am on the List so it is
fine for me, but the Digest readers will not thank you for imposing
all that code on them ... and the colour is a little garish for me
;-).

Can I say now that this list ain't going to work unless we all keep
(a) sex, (b) religion and (c) politics out of it.
Sure it's OK to wish anyone happy Eide; congrats on a christening;
well done for getting voted in as Mayor; etc. BUT we don't all need
to express our own "heartfelt" opinions / rants / raves ... once we
do that it's just a short walk to becoming racist; sexist and all
the other -ists that will destroy our list.
Lets keep this as a good medium for exchanging Oly ideas and
thoughts, and the odd OT amusement.
If this is too difficult for anyone then I suggest you go and create
your own list where you can throw mud at your hears content.
End of my first and last rant!
