Thanks to Larry, Warren and (especially) Craig (as a fellow member of the clan)
for your opinions. It seems to indicate that a w/a zoom could stand up well
against a Zuiko 24/2.8 (which was my original plan and seems to be a similar
price (second-hand for
the Zuiko of course)).
It's lucky this is the Olympus list and not a Zuiko list or us poor heretics
would be thrown off :-)

I like mine a lot. At f8 it rivals the 21/3.5, 24/2.8,
and is equal to the 28/2 and 35/2.8.

As a fellow heretic (and a Cunningham, no less!), I've been pleasantly
surprised by the performance of my Vivitar 19-35mm lens (OM mount).
I can't say that I've tested it extensively against any of the single focal
length Zuikos (e.g., 21mm, 24mm, 28mm, etc.), but I never expected it to
compare with those for performance.
I'm pleased with the photos I've taken with it, but I usually use it outdoors
in bright light, and stop it down to f/5.6 or f/8. I still think it's a
bargain for the money.
Regards,
Craig Cunningham
