Considering that the OM-1 and 2 have been arond for
about 30+ years and theri circuts are still going
strong, and that even older SLR's such as the Nikon F
are still around working just fine I don't think you
will have much problems wih the circut. A good CLA by
John H or someone else can restore the camera to near
like new condition. I suspect that barring
catastrophic damage such as a saltwater bath or such
your camera could easily last as long as you do.
Lenses are the same, as they are just glass, rubber,
metal and some oil. The oil might eventually break
down but that can be cleaned Leica lenses from the
30's as well as many large format lenses from even
earlier times are still in service. Also there isn't a
shortage of parts and replacements as of yet and
probably won't be for 10-15 more years. What I'm
saying is that the OM system IMHO is far from dead.
