Respected? Gulp. Now I have to behave.
My 50/3.5 is SN 1254xx and shows only the normal purple/yellow
reflections that I expect to see in all of my silver-nosed.
Here is a quick rundown on my lenses:
24/2.8 Silvernosed, Purple/Yellow SN 1232xx
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM H.ZUIKO AUTO-W 1:2.8 f=24mm
35/2.8 Silvernosed, Purple/Yellow SN 1599xx
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM G.ZUIKO AUTO-W 1:2.8 f=35mm
50/3.5 Silvernosed, Purple/Yellow SN 1254xx
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM ZUIKO AUTO-MACRO 1:3.5 f=50mm
100/2.8 Silvernosed, Purple/Yellow/Blue/Pink SN 1306xx
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM E.ZUIKO AUTO-T 1:2.8 f=100mm
135/3.5 Silvernosed, Purple/Yellow SN 1819xx
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM E.ZUIKO AUTO-T 1:3.5 f=135mm
200/4 Silvernosed, Purple/Yellow SN 1382xx
OLYMPUS OM-SYSTEM E.ZUIKO AUTO-T 1:4 f=200mm Japan
What is most unusual about this is that you will notice the
additional colors in the 100/2.8 This particular sample has
four distinct colors to it. The yellow/purple reflections are
obviously the telltail for SC lenses, but there is an
unquestionable addition of blue and pink. At first I thought
the pink was just a variation of the purple (as it is in the
other lenses), but in this case the pink is also a distinct
shade, not just an interpretation of purple. Furthermore, the
coatings are more brilliant in the 100 than the others.
