I fully agree. I have moved strongly to the Metz units and have ~5
32CT3/4 units, a 32MZ (uses 3xxx adapters) and 2 40MZ series (3xxx)
Some other points:
1. The SCA 321 adapter is sometimes sold as a Praktika version. It is
exactly the same.
2. Grip 15 will work with SCA 3xx series, the Grip 16 is for the SCA3xxx
series, but due to German "system" there is an adapter to get 3xx units
to work on 16 and 3xxx units to work on G15.
3. Other sources for SCA components are Afga, Osram, Cullmann and
Regula. You can find some really nice buys if you look.
Big advantage of Metz and Sunpak is that their units are current (Sunpak
OM adapter was recently discontinued). Vivitar units were made in 80's.
But, a working Vivitar is a reliable flash.
