Tamron made one for the 300/5.6 and a couple of others as Roger mentioned.
Smallest clamping diameter is about 61mm (I just checked - it would clamp a
60mm filter well but not a 58mm - each is about 2mm wider than the nominal
thread size). You could attach two extra rubber pads to clamp a slightly
smaller diameter and protect the barrel.

If the tripod will not hold a 200mm lens, maybe the problem is the
tripod. Certainly a tripod so flimsy as to not be able to hold the
camera plus lens is not going to be sturdy enough to prevent shaking
in any position.
