: > Anyone know the Belgian for "PHOTOGRAPH - PLEASE DO NOT BEND" ???
:
: Well, if it's the Flemish part, then the text would be "FOTO - NIET
BUIGEN".
: As you're undoubtedly aware, Belgium is bilingual (Flemish/Welsh(SP?)), so
: you'd also do well to write the text in French on the parcel as well.
: Anyone, know the French equivalent of it?
http://babelfish.altavista.com/tr thinks it's PHOTOGRAPHIE - S'IL VOUS PLAÎT
NE DÉPLIEZ PAS
which sounds plausible. However, if you translate it back, it tells me that
this means "PHOTOGRAPHS - PLEASE DO NOT UNFOLD". Now if I translate that
into French, I get "PHOTOGRAPHIES - S'IL VOUS PLAÎT NE DÉVOILEZ PAS". Which,
of course, means: "PHOTOGRAPHS - PLEASE DO NOT REVEAL". Now that should be
translated to "PHOTOGRAPHIES - S'IL VOUS PLAÎT N'INDIQUEZ PAS", meaning
"PHOTOGRAPHS - PLEASE DO NOT INDICATE". That's "PHOTOGRAPHIES - S'IL VOUS
PLAÎT N'INDIQUEZ PAS" - "PHOTOGRAPHS - PLEASE DO NOT INDICATE"!
So to play it safe, these prints really should _not_ be indicated. ;)
