I suspect the differences are smaller than you think. A better comparison
would be the 4040 to the E-10, as they are both 4megapixels. The E-?? has a
larger sensor, which seems to be a good thing (although I can't explain
why).
Honestly, for convenience and regular use, the C4040 is a better choice.
