Watch out for currency transaction fees. My 24-shift repair by Olympus Japan
needed to be paid for by "bank draft" in Japanese Yen currency. The fee for
said bank draft was $15 (from my personal checking account bank).
As a percentage of the total this is only about 5%, but it is an additional
cost to be factored into the overall cost of any transaction. Best to know
it in advance... the bank's fee would be the same for a $10 bank draft, I'm
sure.
