How wacky is that? No aperture click stops? Maybe there's a worn piece under the aperture ring?

I have an old Schneider Exakta lens that exhibits the same behavior, and it seems like a conscious design decision. But that's a 50's lens. The same with an old 1930's Leica Summar and a 50's Elmar that I have.

But the FTL was a 60's design.  Strange!

I've seen three different FTL lenses. None had detents  on the aperture. I
guess it was designed that way.
