Another tough question. It depends if "zuiko" on the lens is important to
you.
For "normal" zooms, in the Zuiko, there are a number of choices (with used
prices)
$125 - 35-70/3.5-4.5 - small and light, this is one of my favorites
$90 - 35-70/4 - a little larger and heavier, about equal picture quality to
the 35-70/3.5-4.5, I prefer the 3.5-4.5
$200 - 35-70/3.6 - the 'best' of the 35-70 zuikos. Their professional zoom
until the 35-80/2.8 came out. Heavier still
$50 - 35-70/3.5-4.8 - made by Consina, even though it says zuiko. Not a
great lens. OK for a very occasional use lens
$200 - 35-105/3.5-4.5 - bigger and heavier, but a great lens -- nice wide
zoom range
$1000 - 35-80/2.8 - the best, no question. Simple a wonderful lens. The
problem? Heavy and EXPENSIVE
If it was me, I'd get the 35-70/3.5-4.5 or the 35-105/3.5-4.5
Longer zuikos
$200 - 65-200/4 - a very nice, versitile, good priced lens
$550 - 50-250/5 - more uncommon, great performer, nice range, a great, but
expensive lens
$100 - 70-210/4-5.6 - a Cosina, not a zuiko, even though it says zuiko.
Don't go there
$275 - 85-250/5 - darn big, great performer, needs a tripod or monopod
Of the four, I'd go with the 65-200 first
Others can jump in with informed opinions on the non-zuikos. I just bought,
from a list member, the Tamron 80-200/2.8. I'm going to use it for the
first time this weekend. It's a tank, but I think I am going to really like
it!
