I recently took a shot with the 4040 in Balboa park with a wall in the very near foreground and a flower bed stretching out into the scene with the organ pavilion in the background. Camera was set on "P" mode. Zoom was at it's widest possible setting. It decided to shoot at f/2.5 at 125sec and use ISO 200. The resultant image was acceptably sharp from foreground to background. I was surprised.
