I would agree with that. I don't really care what a body or a lens looks
like (if anything, I would stay away from a pristine one because that would
mean I couldn't comfortably take it into situations where it might get
scuffed) as long as it works. To each their own.
(From the dead-horse department: unless you're the kind of person who saves
all paperwork and receipts for 20 years, the serial numbers won't really help
you recover a stolen item. A mark is much better proof of ownership...)
