In TTL autoflash, the 2 holds the shutter open until a full exposure is
achieved, or the long exposure limit is reached. This means if your flash
doesn't have enough power, the shutter can stay open a long time. The 2n
releases the 2nd curtain as soon as the flash fires, which limits the
shutter speed to 1/60s. However, it only does this if the ready light
is on, so some people force 2-type behavior by taping over the ready light
contact. The 2n also gives you flash confirm by flashing the ready light.
