Frieder, I've thought along the same lines. But I have
an even better suggestion. I think the self-timer
lever is just an electrical switch (unlike the old
OM-1 lever which activated a gear train). Therefore
one just needs to run a wire into the switch and
activate it externally to the camera body. Contact
made will start the self-timer sequence and contact
open will fire the shutter when you want.
Of, course I'm not ready to take my OM-4T apart just
yet. I leave that to someone more adventuresome.
